Pitti Immagine show
Pitti Immagine represents one of the most important shows taking place in the city. The history of the Pitti Show begins in 1951, with the first Italian fashion parade held at Villa Torrigiani. On July 1952 the fashion shows are transferred to Palazzo Pitti, where they are uninterruptedly held until 1982. After that date the show is definitively moved to Fortezza da Basso, although maintaining the original name of the event. In 1954 the Italian Florence Fashion Centre (CFMI) is founded with the purpose to promote various events reunified under the name Pitti. The 70’s see in fact the birth of several related events: Pitti Uomo, Pitti Bimbo, Pitti Filati and Pitti Casa . In 1983 the company Centro Moda srl is founded, lately called Pitti Immagine, an institution charged with the organisation of the various events.

Artigianato expo
The Craftsmanship trade exhibition is an international fair for the promotion of Italian and international craft, which is held every year at the Fortezza da Basso. The exhibition has been going on for 70 years.
