The Galleria degli Uffizi, one of the most important museum in the world, is inside a palace that in origin is made up to house offices (Uffizi, in the old Italian). Cosimo I, the Grand Duke wanted to join all the public office in the same palace, so he asked to Vasari to make the project to a palace which have to rise close to Palazzo della Signoria. Vasari chose the space and organized the construction in long, make it light with high arcades.
The palace was build from 1560 to 1580 under the direction of Alfonso Parigi and Bernardo Buontalenti who followed the original design of Vasari.
